The Party Branch of Mingjing Group organized all its members to watch the CCTV program “Role Models.”
At 8 p.m. on December 2021, the Party branch of Mingjing Group organized all its members to watch the premiere of “Model Figures No. 6,” jointly produced by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and China Media Group and broadcast on CCTV-1, the Comprehensive Channel of China Central Television.
The “July 1 Medal” is the highest honor. Previously, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee issued the “Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Nomination for the ‘July 1 Medal’ and the Recommendation for the National ‘Two Excellences and One Pioneer’ Awards,” which stated that the CPC Central Committee had decided, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, to confer the “July 1 Medal” for the first time in the name of the CPC Central Committee, in order to commend outstanding Communist Party members, outstanding Party workers nationwide, and advanced primary-level Party organizations across the country. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, China has established a merit and honor system comprising the “Republic Medal,” “National Honorary Title,” “July 1 Medal,” “August 1 Medal,” “Friendship Medal,” as well as the “Merit Register”—the so-called “Five Medals and One Register.” The “July 1 Medal” is the highest honor within the Party. This round of selection for the “July 1 Medal” marks the first such award since the establishment of the commendation system, and its significance is all the more profound given the special milestone of the Party’s centenary.
An unparalleled honor—paying tribute to heroes. Judging from the nominees, recipients of the “July 1 Medal” include revolutionary fighters who fearlessly sacrificed their lives and fought bravely; border-defending heroes who safeguarded the motherland and stood firm in national defense; outstanding cadres who have taken root at the grassroots level and devoted themselves wholeheartedly to serving the people; and dedicated professionals who are committed to scientific research and continuous innovation. Some have spent their entire lives detached from fame and fortune; others have devoted their lives to the battle against poverty, composing a new anthem of youth in the new era; still others are known to the masses as the “Sandal-Wearing Secretary.” There are those who boldly declared, “If the water won’t flow, I’ll pave the way with my life.” Whether it was resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea, developing the “Two Bombs and One Satellite,” advancing aerospace endeavors, or pushing forward reform and opening up—these individuals come from all corners of the country and have strived in every direction; yet they share one common identity: Chinese Communist Party members. With unwavering conviction and boundless strength, they have risen from the ordinary to the extraordinary, from the commonplace to the exemplary—they are the role models and representatives of the more than 91 million Party members.
